Sweet Nothing is a movement that puts on events to help others through music, art and graffiti. So far they have helped homeless charities and non profit organisations and due to their success in the big city they have been asked by Projekts, a local skate park, to head the ‘Sweet Projekts’ event happening this Saturday, 20th May.
Aside from music there promises to be a skateboarding competition, amazing food and drinks served by the in house Sweet Nothing team and a silent art auction which is rumoured to feature some incredible artwork, including the man behind The Mouse Outfit’s album artwork. If that amount of art wasn’t enough there is also going to be some live graffiti artwork from one of Manchesters finest artists AKSE P19 CREW, and SEEZ.
Monster have also donated a BMX worth £500 as another incentive for people to come down and raise some funds for a skatepark that if you have visited Manchester City Centre at any point will have seen, gone past or possibly even enjoyed a spell on.
The aim of this event is to raise funds for the park itself so that it can be extended, have an additional area created for separate works to happen alongside the skating and also a safer viewing area for those coming down to just watch the skating rather than getting on the board themselves. If you are in or around Manchester this weekend there is no reason to not head down and check it out, live music, art, skating, food and drink, oh and I almost forgot the event will be pay as you feel throughout the day and a mere £8 on the door after 8pm.
