If you’ve stumbled across a new single or dug out a gem you haven’t heard in years, your first impression is to share that song with friends. We’ve got an exclusive insight into Zubble, which is a social music app, allowing you to instantly share and discover music with friends, tastemakers and artists. What is Zubble? I hear you ask. We spoke with Tom Pickersgill (co-founder) of the upcoming app, who explains a little more in depth.
“We developed Zubble from our time at university. I was cycling to town one morning listening to a song that I really wanted to share with my friends. I instantly pictured the tedious and clunky method of searching for the song online, finding the link, copying and pasting it onto Twitter or Facebook timelines which are dedicated to photos or 140 characters of text. It was all too messy.”
We questioned Tom why Zubble was different. What was the uniqueness of this app which makes it stand out above the rest? Let’s be honest, there are thousands of apps in the marketplace, some of which serve a great purpose.
“Zubble users can share the track that is the sound to their day, a song they’re currently listening to or one that best suits their mood. Users can then choose to add a short caption and/or tag friends.
Once a track is shared, it becomes readily playable on followers’ timelines. Listen to music on Zubble, comment on songs, favourite great tracks to follow-up and‘re-share’ your latest discovery.”
Sounding good so far? The idea of creating and sharing music based on YOUR preference. We aren’t talking about some algorithm that a website THINKS you want to hear. Tom elaborates on this point as well.
“We started speaking to our target market who described radio as repetitive, music hidden beneath millions of unrelated content on YouTube and streaming sites offering suggestions based upon impersonal algorithms. There’s also a brick wall blocking music fans on different streaming sites connecting.”
There’s also a huge appeal to upcoming artists. There are plenty of Social Media apps and websites which lets artists share their music for the world to discover. Zubble looks at things slightly differently.
“An up and coming artist will benefit from using Zubble as the platform offers the opportunity to share music, which is readily playable, with an accessible, immediate and interested audience. Zubble offers up and coming artists 24/7 word-of-mouth referral from the consumer audience itself, highly targeted promotion and seamless interaction with both current and new fans. This allows their following to grow with increased exposure for their music.
The app unites the unsigned and signed artists onto one platform to create a level playing field for talent on a social media platform dedicated to music. Bringing all music into one place will remove barriers to discovery and give equal opportunities to be heard.”
We’ve downloaded the app and have started to create and share music ourselves. The ability to connect with like-minded fans is brilliant! You can download Zubble from the App Store which of course we highly recommend. Make sure you add “TheKing” (that’s me!) and drop a review to show your appreciation too!
